COVID-19 Guidelines

Dear Parents,

The safety of our students, their families and our Hebrew School staff, is of our highest priority. Therefore, in order to have an in person program, we have implemented protocols to follow the most current guidelines set forth by the CDC, the state of Georgia and in consultation with local health professionals.

We are committing to reassess the COVID-19 situation in our area before the January term and will make changes accordingly.

The protocols are as follows:

  • There will be no more than 10 students per class
  • Students will remain with their class during the Hebrew School day and will not mix with other classes at any time during the day.
  • Temperature checks will be taken at dropoff, before the child gets out of the car. Any student with an elevated temperature will be sent home.
  • There will be NO adults allowed in the building at any time during Hebrew School other than our teachers and staff. All parents can email /text/call with any questions or concerns as necessary. Hot Yoga clients will have restricted access and will not be allowed past the Hot Yoga area
  • There will be hand sanitizing stations around the building that will be used throughout the day, including the beginning of the day as students enter the building.
  • All teachers and staff will be required to wear masks.
  • All students will be required to wear masks.
  • Food items will be individually packaged and will not be handled by our staff.

Sick Policy:

  • Please check your child’s temperature at home prior to coming to Hebrew School if they may be ill.
  • Keep your child home if they are showing any signs or symptoms of illness.
  • Children must be symptom free (without the aid of a fever reducing medication) for 72 hours.
  • If your child has an excessive and unusual runny nose, cough or sneeze, fever, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, loss of taste or smell, or any other symptoms typical of COVID-19, the student will be separated from the group until they can be picked up by a parent or guardian.
  • If you, your spouse or other members of your family have a temperature or are sick, we respectfully request that you keep your child/ren home.
  • The success of in person Hebrew School depends upon all families openly and honestly communicating whether anyone in their home has tested positive or even has any related symptoms.

With everyone following all the necessary proactive precautions, we are confident that your child(ren) can be provided with an amazing, educational and exciting semester at IHS! Nonetheless, we cannot guarantee that COVID-19 or other illnesses will not occur. No one can make that guarantee. Please make the best decision for you and your family.
